Why can't anyone actually wait for the item to be released before writing their own crappy review, this section should be a review of the actual product not someones opinion of the movies themselves, i'm pretty sure that anyone even considering buying these on Blu-Ray has already seen them so we don't need in-depth synopsis of each movie! (that's what IMDB is for). Let's just wait and see whether the movies are worth buying on blu-ray for the improved picture quality and hopefully improves audio quality too!!

Successively poorer films.

Alien - still a raw marvel, 30+ years on. Visceral. Creepy. Arty. A talented, driven director, an exceptional cast & crew - and a triumph of talent over budget. Alien - Definitive Edition [DVD] [1979]

Aliens - good for a sequel. Exciting, fun, action-film. Doesn't really inhabit the same, real and panicky world of it's predecessor.

Alien³ - little to recommend it, but has occasional moments, despite dire CG effects & crappy, witless script.

Alien Resurrection - unlikely, unlikable, stupid, horrible, boring. Shame you can't tell how many people hated a film from the box office receipts.

Alien Anything Else - here's hoping they don't bother. Though stupidly (as it first seemed), Alien vs. Predator is actually okay. In fact, far better than Alien³ & Alien Resurrection put together. To compensate, they made Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem. Unrelentingly bad, like a growing number of mainstream films over the last 10 years. Increasingly, so many films seem unable to resist resorting to lingering scenes of humiliation, mutilation and dismemberment, with plots designed to be understood by even the most moronic teen boy you can envisage; and 300 effing eff words every effing second, you effing eff. Where's the art?

Try Primer [DVD] if you want an uncompromising, intelligent piece of low budget science fiction.

It looks like a great release. Just one problem Alien 3 has to be one of the worst films in a franchise I've ever seen. It totally ruined it. How could they kill off two members of the cast and then at the end Ripley too.
Please can we have seperate releases. I will not be buying this as I only want the first two movies. I have no wish to own the last two.

At last we get a DVD release that has both versions of each film on one disc rather than the greedy studios trying to make money and release them separately. Goto get this when it's released, not to bothered about the French getting the nice boxes I just want the movies.
