reassurance of what you can do March 8, 2010 K. Wiseman (MK , UK) this is my second child, so even tho iv done the weaning thing before i wanted more adventurous combinations and reassurance of what i was doing. it does assume this is your first time weaning but so what. it makes sure you know how to cook the fruit and veg right to contain all the nutrients and gives you combinations known that children like. you can even make them as pureed or lumpy as you llike. then there are the proper meals in the remainder of the book... we dont all have the time to do the funny faces on the food or anything, but if you have a fussy eater its a good idea to know what to do, although in my opinion i wouldnt do the funny faces etc every time you cook or they will get used to it and possibly refuse the food if served normally. its good to know what a child should be having roughly and when the best time to eat is but... dont be afraid to adjudt this to suit your child, this isnt set in stone!
Nice Recipes & good advice March 8, 2010 Mr. M. Wilson Nice book, loads of good advice and easy to follow..
There are some very good recipes that are nice and easy to follow. There are also some complex recipes that I can't be bothered doing but all in all its a good book. Well worth the price.
Very well explained March 4, 2010 Antonio Moncayo (Zaragoza) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very helpful guide for those parents who are weaning for the first time.
It is superbly well illustrated and has a easy to follow step by step approach to weaning.
Written in an easy to understand language and with many menus using things that can be found in most kitchens.
Starting with carrots and bananas all the way into "proper" food.
5 stars
Must have February 27, 2010 Ms. R. Wigham (North East) Great book for weaning...making good healthy food for your little one is essential and this book has some really easy recipes to follow
Average February 26, 2010 Mrs. S. Pomyluyko I bought this book after reading different reviews about it on Amazon. I have already two books by Gina Ford with recipes for the babies. I wanted another one to see if there are any more suggestions for cooking for 7-9 mnths old babies. And when I saw it was on special offer, I bought it. Cannot say I am impressed. Most of her recipes for this stage are too simple, like potatoes and courgettes, potatoes and leek, etc, which can be found in Gina's book). And some of the recipes which I thought were interesting turned out to be a waste of my time, as my son did not like them at all. I would definitely recommend Gina, the recipes are brilliant, and I use it to cook for the whole family, so I do not have to always cook meals for the baby separately.
